Model paulina porizkova's unexpected wedding prep transformation
At 61, model Paulina Porizkova surprised herself – and many – with the intensity of her wedding preparations. Just days after her July 3rd nuptials in the Czech Republic, she revealed a surprisingly demanding journey to the altar, fueled by a shift in fitness and meticulous Beautyrituals.
A late-blooming fitness focus
Porizkova admitted she’d largely neglected her physical well-being, typically sticking to a bi-weekly weightlifting routine punctuated by Pilates and occasional aerobic sessions. But, driven by the prospect of marrying Jeff, she overhauled her regimen, committing to six days a week of intense workouts, incorporating weights three times and pushing her limits.
“My body really changed, I felt so much stronger,” she shared, noting her husband-to-be’s competitive spirit played a key role in her dedication. The transformation wasn’t just about strength; she also invested in non-invasive skin-tightening treatments, SofWave, strategically timed before and after key events.

The fine details mattered
The weeks leading up to the wedding were a testament to meticulousness. From manicures and pedicures to a touch-up of her hair color, Porizkova approached every detail with deliberate care. However, a minor mishap – accidentally washing her hair with purple shampoo and resulting in shockingly violet nails – threatened to derail the entire operation. “We had to search everywhere for nail polish remover,” she laughed, recalling the frantic search.

A glam team and a singular vision
Fortunately, Porizkova assembled a trusted glam team, including makeup artist Romy Soleimani and hairstylist Hos Hounkpatin. “Makeup artists and hairdressers can make you look beautiful, but sometimes you don’t look like yourself,” she explained. “I’ve worked with both of them for so long that they know how to make me look like the real me.” The brief was simple: “I wanted to look like my very best self,” she stated, emphasizing her desire to capture her “very best 61-year-old self” – not a younger, idealized version.
Confidence in a defining moment
Looking back, Porizkova described the day as exactly as she envisioned, a deliberate choice to embrace a significant chapter in her life. “Signing up to get married at this point in life is actually so important,” she concluded. “Because we were signing up to be there for each other for possibly the hardest bits. And I was able to show up with confidence in the way I’m intended to be.”
