Gabriela hearst crafts sustainable suits for uruguay's world cup squad
Uruguayan fashion designer Gabriela Hearst has teamed up with the Uruguayan Football Association to create bespoke suits for the country's 23-man World Cup squad, as well as management and coaches. The lightweight merino wool used in the navy-blue suits is sourced from local flocks in the north of Uruguay, spun into yarn locally, and then woven and made up in Italy. This ensures the material is 100 percent biodegradable and produced without the controversial practice of mulesing.
