Javier Bardem is back to his vengeful best in Apple TV's upcoming series remake of the classic thriller 'Cape Fear'.

Almost two decades after 'No Country for Old Men', Bardem once again takes on the role of the terrifying Max Cady, this time in a 10-episode limited series starring alongside Patrick Wilson and Amy Adams.

While the show's trailer hints at a darker, more sinister take on the character, fans of the 1991 Martin Scorsese film starring Robert De Niro will recognize the core storyline.

In Scorsese's version, Cady sought revenge against the married lawyers who sent him to prison, claiming they hid evidence of his innocence. This time around, Bardem's Cady appears to be an acolyte to a demonic entity, with freaky tattoos that suggest a more supernatural threat.

Bardem's return to playing a monstrous villain is a highlight of the show, with the talented cast and the promise of a darker take on the material making for a compelling watch.
